NABCEP Entry Level Exam FAQ's

How does a student become eligible to sit for the NABCEP PV Entry Level exam?

Candidates must first complete a course offered by a registered NABCEP Provider which our PV Entry Level Exam Course is and demonstrate they possess a basic knowledge of PV systems. A list of current registered Providers can be found at the following address:

Can any student completing a course by a registered NABCEP Provider sit for the PV Entry Level CBT exam?

Yes. Providers will upload a candidate eligibility spreadsheet to update all students that are eligible with pertenant information (email address, home address, etc.).

NOTE: Candidate names on this list must match the legal name on their photo ID to be admitted to a Prometric test center.

How do students register to take the PV Entry Level exam online?

After Providers upload a list of eligible students, A candidate may schedule CBT exams at any time after an Authorization - to - Test notification has been received from NABCEP

What is the cost of the PV Entry Level computer-based test?

The exam fee of $95 is included in our course costs along with a $25 administration fee.

Do Candidates need to receive the Candidate Information Sheet (CIS) from Providers if they take their exam online?

Yes. Providers are required to distribute the CIS to all candidates regardless of the method of exam delivery. All candidates are required to verify they have received this form, and that they have read and accept the Candidate Notice and Agreement before they are allowed to sit for the PV Entry Level Exam, whether via paper and pencil, or online.

Where do students take the computer based test?

NABCEP PV Entry Level candidates will be able to choose from over 200 Prometric Test Centers in locations all over the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

When will the candidate receive a score report?

All candidates (both Paper & Pencil and CBT) will receive score reports within 4 to 6 weeks.

Will Providers receive a report of their students' scores?

Candidates will be required to grant permission for scores to be given to Provider at the time they sit for their exam. Score rosters will be emailed to Providers for all their candidates at the end of each month. Scores will be sent to the person listed on the Provider Agreement Form.

Can candidates retake the PV Entry Level Exam online?

Candidates who fail their CBT exam can retake the exam.  Payment of $95 must be received by Sun Pirate within 30 days of the failing score report to register.  If a candidate fails the test a second time, the course must be repeated before being eligible to test again.

We are creating a new course addition to provide the materials not covered in our main course so that new and past students will be able to qualify to sit for the computer based testing at centers near you.
