Our online courses offer a way to learn without having to take weeks off to travel to onsite destination training courses that normally do not cover as much as our online courses do.
The course is taught online with the aid of several online resources and a book called Photovoltaic Systems by Jim Dunlap in partnership with National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. Also included is a binder and organizers to keep track of any materials you may wish to print out and keep on hand in one handy location for later reference. Included in the text book is a informational CD also with various resources for use with the course and text book.
Our instructor is Roger Coghlan is president of Sun Pirate, Inc., a California Solar Contracting business operating in the North San Francisco Bay Area since 1981. He has a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies and Planning, with a Certificate in Energy Management and Design from Sonoma State University. Roger possesses a California Vocational Education Teaching Credential. He has developed the curriculum and is the instructor for FUNDAMENTALS OF SOLAR WATER HEATING, and PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM DESIGN & INSTALLATION on-line courses for the on the job renewable energy industry employee.
We have trained over 300 students in the Photovoltaic System Design & Installation course and many from prominent PV installation companies. Our course is recognized by NABCEP as a continuing education course and counts for 60 contact hours of educational training toward the requirements to sit for the NABCEP Photovoltaic Installer Exam. This online course also counts toward part of our requirements to sit for the NABCEP Entry Level Exam we are approved to administer at the end of our 3 day hands on workshop, in order to sit for the exam you must complete the onine course with a passing grade and attend all 3 days of our workshop.
This course has the following system requirements.
April 22, 23, 24 PV Hands On Workshop This workshop will give you hands on experience with site analysis and various installation practices. At the end if you meet the requirements you are able to remain and take the NABCEP Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge Exam.
